The fourth part of Ravzatü’l-Ebrâr, which is a work of Kara Çelebi-zâde Abdülaziz Efendi, handles each period of 18 sultans individually from the foundations establishment period to IV. Mehmed’s, ıt refers their important events, ascending of sultans, foundations, appointments and dismissions viziers and shaykh al-islam. The importance that the author considers to rhetoric and fabric and his works on literature, hermeneutics, Islamic law, biography as well as history also reflects his work. Also, he led his work to be used as a resource for later historians thanks to his tasks in government which let him see the events closely, his criticism and different point of views. Many of Turkish, Arabic and Persian idioms and poems as well as the verses from the Quran and hadiths, which he imbedded into his work owing to the fact that he has a comprehensive knowledge of these subjects belong to himself.
